Zimmer and Peacock has a wide range of gold screen printed electrodes. Gold is fairly unique among the materials used in electrochemistry and electrochemical biosensors in that it tarnishes and adsorbs material from the atmosphere over time. Before ZP uses gold electrodes for electrochemistry, biosensors or immunosensors we re-activate the gold using a drop of cleaning solution, to ensure a pristine surface. This is followed by a rinse step to remove the cleaning solution.
