Electrochemical polishing ZP electrodes

To electrochemically polish a gold ZP electrode we suggest a 10 mM hydrochloric acid solution.

 

The electrochemical procedure is:

An initial potential of -0.5 Vs. RE

Scan to 1.2 V at a scan rate of 50 mV/s.

Scan back to -0.5 V at a scan rate of 50 mV/s.

Repeat 5 times.

Finish the final scan at 0 V.
