Devanthan Cell

The Devanathan–Stachurski (DS) cell has been successfully used to determine hydrogen permeation behavior in a wide variety of metal

The Devanathan–Stachurski (DS) cell consists of two separate electrochemical cells separated by a steel membrane that is the working electrode in both cells. The purpose of the setup is to produce hydrogen in the charging cell and detect it in the oxidation cell.

The Zahner Instrumentation allows for the normal setup for a Devanathan cell but also a small perturbation (in the range of 10 mV) to the input potential and simultaneously measurement of the current response on both side of the membrane.

To build a set-up such as shown you need a cell and Zahner EIS workstations
